Volendam is a fishing town with an old picturesque neighbourhood with small
bridges and channels called Doolhof. It’s placed just behind the
harbour. Here you
can see sailing boat, traditional fishing boat, and all the
buildings in front of the sea have
traditional facades. The result is a
particular sailor-atmosphere that you can’t find easily elsewhere.
Best Western Hotel Spaander
An experience that starts the moment you enter the
hotel premises, dated from 1881.
Come and experience in person why famous
painters like Paul Sigma, Henry Cassiérs
and Austin Hanicotte came to this hotel
seeking inspiration. Many of these old masters
paid for their stay with
paintings. The result: a unique collection of works of art (over
1,200) are on the display inside.
Dressed in traditional Dutch attire for photography.
Many other deaf people did too.
Our ship can be seen in the far background.
A wonderful thing about this ship is we have a great view right from our cabin window.
