FOR MORE INFORMATION.
(More about history, types, interior & exterior features, tradition,
capacity, society and beauties of scenery)
The 19 windmills at Kinderdijk were
built around 1740 to drain the lowlands.
A brief lecture about old windmills
This windmill once housed a family with 13 children.
Now, it is open to the public.
Dutch people still wear wooden clogs. Since they have to work in
the mud most of time,
it is easier to clean than leather shoes. They wear up to 6 hours
a day with thick, woolen socks.
Notice that all beds are so small. Babies lay on the bed to sleep
adults usually sleep in the sitting position because of religious and
beliefs. If they lay to sleep, they believe evil spirit will go
nostrils and problems of snoring will arise.
